- 1999 - Mash Lecturer. Counseled high school students about academic and career plans.
- 1999 - Rural Practice Preceptorship. Preceptorship with family practitioners in a rural setting in Forrest City, Arkansas.
- 1998 - Tar Wars (Tobacco Education Program). Counseled junior h high students about the risks associated with smoking and smokeless tobacco use.

- 1997 - Research Assistant. U.A.M.S. Department of Medicine Division of Nephrology, Mentor: William B. Reeves, M.D. Continuing experimentation on renal function.
- 1996 1997 - Research Assistant. U.A.M.S. Department of Pathology in conjunction with the John L. McLellan V.A.M.C. Department of Medicine Division of Nephrology. Performed experiments to elucidate factors playing roles in the regeneration of the kidney following episodes of ischemia or Acute Renal Failure.
