Thornton, A.P.N. Amanda G. Thornton was born and raised in Arkansas, she joined The Center for Women in February of 2005. She received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in 1999, and her Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2004. She has a specialty in women’s health and is certified through the National Certification Corporation for Women’s health Care Nurse Practitioner. Amanda cares for women in all stages of life including prenatal care, family planning, contraceptive care, annual wellness exams, and menopause. She is a certified BioTe provider and in trained in the Mona Lisa Laser. She was previously awarded the Medical Professional of the Year Award by the Mountain Home Area Chamber of Commerce. She serves on the Women’s health Advisory Board at Baxter Regional Medical Center and the Schleimann’s Center for Women’s Health Education. She is also a member of Sigma Theta Tau-Gamma XI, Association of Women’s Health Obstetric & Neonatal Nurses, National Associates of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s health and Baxter Regional Medical Center PHO. Harley Barrow, Jr., M.D. is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology since 2001 along with being a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology and a member of the Arkansas State Medical Society. Dr. Barrow prides himself in providing the most advanced care for women in the areas of obstetrics, gynecology, family planning, hormone therapy, osteoporosis treatment, and urology issues. He earned a Doctor of Medicine from University of Arkansas and completed his Post Graduate training at University of Mississippi Medical Center. Since beginning his practice he has served as Chief of Staff for Obstetrics/Gynecology multiple times and served on the Executive Committee at Baxter Regional Medical Center. He is still an active physician through the local Physician’s Hospital Organization (PHO) and the Accountable Care Organization (ACO) with Baxter Regional Medical Center. Dr. Barrow served on the Board for Serenity House in Mountain Home and is a big supporter of the Schliemann’s Center for Women’s Health Education. Dr. Barrow holds many certifications including Da Vince Robotic Surgery, Advanced Training is Modern Cosmetic-Plastic Gynecology, Advanced Training in Urogynocologic procedures for incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and pelvic reconstruction, Comprehensive Training on Cynosure MonaLisa Touch Laser System for Vaginal Health, and Advanced Training in Hormone Replacement Therapy through BioTE Medical. Dr. Barrow has been awarded TopDoc several times for patient satisfaction scoring over the years from Baxter Regional Medical Center along with being recognized multiple times with the Heroes with Halo’s award.
