Osteoporosis - Silent but Effective if not Managed

Osteoporosis is a condition where the bones lose minerals such as calcium which causes them to become fragile and brittle, and they are therefore more prone to fracture. Osteoporosis can affect any bone in the body, but is most common in the spine, hips and wrists. Usually no symptoms will be felt until a fracture (break or crack in the bone) occurs. Often these fractures can occur with minimal trauma such as a fall.

This is a chance for the community to visit with the vendors to see what is offered within the area, attend a laboratory screening along with many other fun things. Join us for the 40th Annual Health Fair & Expo presented by Baxter Regional Medical Center at the Baxter County Fairgrounds today, Wednesday, April 24 from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. It is presented by Baxter Regional Medical Center, KTLO, Classic Hits & The Boot. There are many different businesses attending with their booths to offer screenings, labs, health information, give-a-ways and exhibits. The event is open to the public and free to attend.
